If you are getting strange calls from this number it is BT sending you a message when a text message has been sent to your landline.
They are doing my head in with these calls. How do you stop it?
You cant ring the number back so how can i get them to stop?
Another 5 calls today. Its sooooooo annoying.
2 missed calls this avo.
British Telecom convert texts to voice messages when one is sent to my landline using some cool technology and a computer voice. Whats the problem guys?
Has anyone rang them to see if they can set their system to not do it?
I guess most of you in this thread didn't take the time to listen to all the available information when you were called by this number.
Before even listening to the message I'd received today, I pressed '4' to get more information on the service, at which point I was told you can customise when you receive automated calls about texts converted to speech to particular "curfew" periods, or you can switch it off altogether. The default curfew period is 11pm to 8am, so you should never receive these calls at these times if you haven't explored your options. The other alternatives are: 9pm to 9am, and midnight to 6am. Or, as I say, you can turn it off completely. To do any of this, you ring a free number: 0800 587 5252, and follow the menu options.
Also, you CAN call back the number that called you (i.e. 0845 602 1111) and access your saved messages.
Thanks for info.
this number rang twice within a minute but no message left!!
