Our business had a call from this number claiming to be British Gas, which is our electricity supplier. They said there was a problem with our meter - overcharging us by '200 person capacity' so they needed to organise to come and change the meter - no charge to us. I was suspicious as they didn't use our proper business name, they also asked for the Directors names rather than the member of staff who deals with our utilities and what on earth is the made up unit of '200 person capacity'. They did know our Meter ID/Meter Supply Number and our current meter Serial number which is a bit worrying. They also knew our address and all our Directors names. When I kept querying things, they eventually hung up on me. I phoned British Gas, and they confirmed there is no known issue with our meter and nothing on our account to indicate the meter needed replacing. The caller from this number was definitely some form of scammer.
