Claimed to be from nationwide bank re a fraudulent transaction of £575 in Newcastle. Very convincing, even giving nationwide website address whilst on hold being transferred to their fraud dept. But they didn't quite get my name right, which rang alarm bells, so I googled the number while they were on the phone, found they were scammers, called them out and they hung up.

Again said they were from Nationwide and asked if I’d made a payment an hour ago. Asked if I did internet banking. Girl first, then put me through to man. When I said it was a scam he rang off.

They claimed they were from Nationwide, knew my surname, but were sketchy as they had a foreign accent and called at a late hour. They also had a poor connection. The key part for me was that they gave a random postcode for my address. Nothing suspicious from my accounts when I checked. I suspect they found info from a data leak (thanks, techno megacorps). Anyway, Google Nationwide's 24/7 fraud protection line if you're unsure, or visit them at your closest convenience. They will not just let a fraudulent charge go through within a few days- and they will get back any real fraudulent activity if you act within a month or so.

This number claimed to be the FCA preventing fraud and obtained credit card and debit card information from my 83 year old mum aswell as driving licence information. They have taken money from her bank account and got her to download apps thinking she was getting refunded. This happened today at 4.30pm. Very dangerous and deceiving.
