Claimed to be from EDF, said there was a discrepancy with our account and someone else. They had our supply numbers for all our meters and wanted to know when our contract ends. I did call the number back quickly to check if it was from EDF.... just said Energy Department..... I don't think I gave them any info they didn't already have but it was suspicious. I contacted EDF who confirmed they didn't know the person who called me and had no record of the call. I am more aware now for next time.

Claimed to be from Scottish Power about a meter reading number discrepancy. Wanted meter supply number. Had all my company details. Keeps phoning back.

A call from British Gas asking me to verify my Smart Meter number. They had my company name and address and they gave me the last few digits of the IPAN number but they wanted me to read the full number. I refused. I then contacted my provider who confirmed it was a scam. Knowing that 01204 was a Bolton number I asked him where he was ringing from and he told me London. At this point I ended the call.
