Silence at first, which is usually from abroad on a spoofed number, then a very brief attempt at speech and the line went dead. From previous experience this means that either the call dropped or was stopped by someone and, if it had continued, I would have been offered the same deal as the others and cuold have been scammed.

This number called knew my name and told me as a valued phone customer I was getting a reduction for a year. They then read out a wrong address and postcode so I hung up

South East Asian female voice making a confused telephone offer, covering O2, Virgin,others. Said she was from O2. Had my name, wanted my birth date to give me best offer - I refused to give personal details without further information - she abruptly hung up.
