Got a call, didn’t pick it up. No idea who they are

Said from Mobile phone provider and wanted to replace Sim card. I received a code from mobile phone provider and he wanted me to give him the code! Got cross when I refused and said my phone would be disconnected. That was yesterday lunch time and is still working
