Someone claimed they were from Virgin Media but the call sounded like an overseas centre and I struggled to understand the script.

Asian man called claiming to represent Sky Maintenance. Hung up when I questioned him.

Claimed to be from “Sky Assured Maintenance.” I don’t have Sky. Hung up immediately.

Claimed to be from Sky, to renew the Sky Assurance equipment insurance. Got cross when I said we didn't have cover, referred me to his "superior officer" who got even more cross when I challenged him!

Answered and heard the usual noisy call centre atmosphere before a man tried to launch into some story about my account. Felt wrong straight away so I hung up.

Caller claimed to be from “Sky Assurance” with an Asian accent. Did not sound legit at all, so I hung up immediately.

Told me I was already paying them for maintainance of our TV equipment - when quizzed as to what it was he mentioned sky and virgin media - I asked him what the name on the account we were supposedly paying them from - he said my husband's but couldn't give a name due to data protection!

Scam call saying I needed to renew my insurance for my sky equipment. I don’t pay insurance for this, I said this and he got quite abusive and I put phone, he then phoned back but I did not answer.

Said he was calling from Sky (we don’t have sky), thanked him for calling and asked what the problem was. He hung up, which was a shame because I was hoping to lead him up the garden path. I must learn to sound more vulnerable.

Caller tried to claim my property needed maintenance. Not true so I hung up.

Called at c.10am today. As number unknown to me I allowed it to go to my answering machine to which they immediately hung up without stating their business. I regard that type of action as harassing rather than neutral. Having now read other recipients comments I feel my action was justified.

Received an unsolicited call from 01746 400873 today 19 November 2025 at 12:45 hours. Man with Indian accent said his name was Daniel from Sky Assured Maintenance, and asked how I was today. I asked how he had my number as I had never heard of that company, and he said 'from our records'. As it was clear to me that this was dodgy, I told him to delete my number and not to call again, then hung up.

I received a call from this number but was wary/alerted by of the length of time it takes for someone to come on line. The person on the other end of the call started the “energy company spiel” so I put the phone down. I have had three such call these three days following the first and they say nothing. Always same number.
