This number hit me up about potential car finance compensation due to mis sold product years ago. The caller was super friendly and rattled off some regulations to build trust but the moment they wanted me to log into my online banking while on the call to "secure the claim" I shut it down. I later looked up the claims process myself and its never done that way over unsolicited calls. These frauds target folks who might have old loans by scraping data from everywhere. If you suspect anything hang up and contact the company directly using details from your statements not what they provide. Better to be cautious than cleaned out.

They called pretending to be from the energy department about some rebate on my bills. Insisted I give them access to my smart meter info immediately. I hung up and checked with my real provider, nothing there. These scammers are getting bolder, using official sounding names to trick folks into sharing sensitive data like account numbers and passwords. Always verify independently before giving out any info.
