Man called saying they were from the housing department. I asked which one and they said the government housing department for local authorities and housing associations. When I pressed them to clarify as that Govt. department doesn't exist, they said there were from the Housing Ombudsman Service. They wanted to check about any delayed repairs or problem with damp that I had and they were doing spot checks to help people claim compensation. I said that I would call the Ombudsman to double check and they were extremely rude and ended the call by saying 'so you think you know it all then' What was worrying is that they knew my name and the local authority I lived in

Woman called asking if I was a homeowner. I refused to answer and she gave up. Obvious scam.
