Text message which was perporting to come from Barclays which told me that a Direct Debit had been set up in favour of Alan Motors and to ring this number if it was not you.

Automated message claimed a Barclays credit card application for £1299 had been made and urged me to call back. It is a fake banking scam designed to frighten people into responding, so never return the call.

Looks like a fake Barclays approval message. My phone flagged it as spam and I ignored it.

I received a fraudulent text pretending to be Barclays saying a credit card application had been approved and referencing this phone number. The message was clearly designed to trick people into believing it was genuine banking communication and could easily catch someone off guard.
