This voicemail was the last one left on my phone asking me to call Lao, from a similar number: 0333 556 5587, which I’ve reported to Phonely. I didn’t call the suggested number but was curious about 0333 556 5587. Lao had made three calls in 20 minutes before leaving the robot’s voicemail. I decided to call the original number but didn’t want to risk my main phone number. So, I made a 15-second call from an old pay-as-you-go mobile on a different network. I dialled 141 before their number to disable caller ID. The machine answered: “Thanks for contacting Lao. We’re here to help so we’re now looking for an agent to transfer your call for further assistance.” As soon as the music started, I hung up, removed the old SIM card, cut it into four pieces, and threw it away. I blocked both the calling number and the suggested number, reported them as spam, deleted everything from my phone, turned it off for ten minutes, and turned it back on.
