Virgin media scam

Impersonating Virgin o2 media. Offered me an iPhone 17 and airtime for £30 a month on a one year contract, which gave the game away instantly. When asked for my email address I provided crimestoppers-uk.org and pressed record on the phone, they hung up!

Call came up as 02 customer services ? They don’t call on 0344 numbers .

Genuine number but clearly spoofed - Indian accented man asking if I am happy with O2 and telling me I am eligible for a free upgrade to all sorts of things - I ended the call after telling him I didn't want anything and then looked up the number as I found it very strange having been a Virgin customer for 15 years and never having received a call like this. I have saved the number as *Scam Virgin O2 Scam* so that if it rings again I am not caught out as it came up as being a call from Virgin Media O2 on my phone!

Scam call from someone pretending to be from o2 and offering discount. Even capable of send one time access code from what’s shows as o2 in your original texts. O2 confirmed they can access your details if you are out of contract
