Very unusual to receive a call so late. I called the number back and was met with a message saying I had dialled an incorrect number, which made the whole thing seem suspicious.

These types of banking scams can catch people out if they are not careful. Any suspicious calls claiming to be from financial institutions should be reported through the proper channels so others can be warned.
