Was called by Michaela from the "Home Efficiency Office". She knew my name and address (no "Are you the homeowner?"), so didn't dismiss her out of hand. She advised me that engineers from Green Home Energy (a legitimate business) would be carrying out a "national energy assessment" in our area the next day, all external bar a "moisture check" in our loft, offered me a time slot etc. I would shortly be receiving a security call from "Matthew" to advise the name of the engineer so we could verify ID when they turned up tomorrow. Had started Googling these details as was already suspicious so ignored the call from Matthew when it came in. Shortly after, Michaela called back to say that Matthew had tried to contact me but had no answer and could she transfer me now? Replied that there was no such thing as the Home Efficiency Office and she hung up. We do occasionally have genuine assessors who turn up with little or no notice, so it took a minute to twig that this was a scam!

Picked up and heard call center noise in the background. Caller tried to dig for personal info. Felt like a scam, so I blocked them.
