Pretending to be PayPal Credit debt collectors

100% a SCAM! Like many others I received a letter in the post, it looked VERY genuine with various QR codes (I did not scan them I hasten to add) and even references and numbers down the margin. I do not have a Credit agreement with PayPay, so how could I have missed a payment? I contacted an unhelpful online Customer Centre who reassured me that there was nothing on my payment account to worry about. Lets see if this is followed up, I some how doubt it.

I too received the same letter saying that I had a charge on my PayPal credit account which I do not have and to call this number. It is 100% a scam no question about it and to the unsuspecting, sadly very convincing. They even enclosed an FCA flyer, all about Helping With Debt! Do please note this is not just about getting you to pay the amount they say you owe. It is MOSTLY about you calling this 0800 number and providing them with the rest of your ID information, so they can then apply for loans and credit cards in you name. Do please beware….

had a letter off paypal credit stating to call this number to pay a late payment fee. i dont have a paypal account.

Received a letter saying that I had a charge on my PayPal credit account and to call this number. I do not have PayPal credit and so will not be calling this number. Have raised it on the PayPal app and will wait to see what they say.

I’m not too sure if there a scam or not. They were able have a look at my recent payments. And stuff that all seems to be legit. Still think it could potentially be a scam though
