He called me by name then said I would get 30% discount on all mobile and my lannline which I haven't got. Then I asked him who he was with and he said he was with virgin and 02 which I said I wasn't with them he persisted that I was and then called me stupid total scammer

I no longer speak when I answer these calls. About three seconds of silence, then it hung up. I wouldn't answer but BT only lets me block "the last call answered." I've been on TPS for years and they aren't bothered.

Caller asked how I was and then immediately ended the call after I responded. It felt like they were checking whether the number was active.

After a short delay, indicating my number had been dialled by a machine, someone actually spoke to me. He called me by name, not difficult as I'm in the phone book, and said he was calling from my service provider. When I asked who he thought that was he answered 'BT'. Sadly for him that was the wrong answer so I terminated the call.

When I answer the phone the caller disconnects immediately which appears to be a spam dialler.

These calls keep happening where the phone connects but nobody speaks and then the caller hangs up. It appears to be another nuisance spam dialler.
