Had two calls now claiming to be from O2. Said my sim would be deactivated in 2 days due to the merge of O2 and Virgin Media but would send me a new sim and keep the same number. Hung up both times and surprisingly my phone still works. Scam alert!!! Don't give any personal information and hang up immediately!!!

Caller repeatedly raised SIM related issues but I did not engage and believe it was an unwanted sales style call.

Caller pretended to be Vodafone. Said new upgraded SIM card will be delivered tomorrow! I replied I have ESIM and no actual sim card - he replied it will be a QR code then - this only took 20 seconds by which time I had received a genuine message from Vodafone with a new security code. I told him it was a company phone and he cut me off!!
The way the scam works is that they use my mobile number to ask for new password - I get the code and once given to them they change it to block my access - they then have access to victims account!!
The code only lasts for 15 minutes so threat over - I called Vodafone in case anyway!

Caller first claimed to be from Vodafone, then changed to Three. They sent a security code which appeared to originate from Microsoft. The whole conversation felt highly deceptive and untrustworthy.
