Very persistent foreign voice, hard to understand, kept asking if I was the person she sssumed me to be, wittered on about me being due something so she was passing me to her line manager, for my details. I hung up. Was called back, didn’t answer.

Basic appliance insurance scam. Reported to 7726 as advised by one of the posts below. Concerned re the info about voice cloning. I had heard that scammers may be running with this technology alongside their usual scams so I only grunt when answering the phone to an unknown number. And I've removed my own voice message from my answerphone. Can't be too careful!

Called my mum posing as a lady from Home serve and my mum is hard of hearing so I took over she asked my name I told her not giving it then wanted to talk to me about my mothers details I said no then I questioned her about why she was calling then got flummoxed and told me she will just send us the details. She kept calling me love. Not convincing definitely a scam caller. I blocked the number. Avoid at all costs

Appliance warranty scam attempt! Followed the scam report procedure: Report all scam attempts onto the official police/Ofcom systems set up to deal with them. Text phone call number and details (including silent calls) to 7726. Repeat when instructed to confirm. Also report on the phone's spam report facility. Forward texts to 7726 AND report on the text spam report facility. Check for any response as you may need to confirm. Forward scam emails to 'report@phishing.gov.uk' AND report on the email phishing report system: 3 dots right corner. Incidentally scammers are now recording their calls and using AI to clone the voices of anyone saying more than 3 words. Google 'voice cloning scams' and 'saying yes scams' for information and police advice about this ultra dangerous emerging AI threat. The technology is already catching out far too many people and none have a clue that they may have a problem that could haunt them for many years. Check it out and warn all you know about it.

Some lowlife asked me to confirm my bank account details. Of course I did not. An obvious SCAM attempt.

Foreign woman called , started to say am I well, then said an I still living at this number I said no I have moved , she said she needed my address so she can send paperwork, I said no thank you and rang off, could hear her saying wait a second, she rang back I didn't answer , then I blocked number, always about insurance, it's a scam

barely able to speak english HE said HIS name was Hillary, which was a bit suspicious and then started banging on about electrical appliance support at an address I left 12 years ago!!!

Called and stated my name and I confirmed yes. Asked if I was ever in the armed forces, I sad no. He hung up. Didn't get a chance to ask who, where and why he called. Getting disconnected when I tried calling the number back.

Obvious scam. I have some basic German so with this lot as well as other suspect scammers I rabit on in German. Most enjoyable listening to their confused blistering.

Received a call from 03300271876 that puzzled me; I did not immediately grab what the lady was talking about. However, when she offered me a reduced direct debit as I had not claimed anything in the last year, the penny dropped. She was babbling on about my devices and when I asked what devices she was talking about, she told me 'all of them' and mentioned the microwave. She knew my name and postcode and I let her continue, making sure not to reveal anything more. Then she had to connect me to her supervisor. Red Flag! Before we came to my bank details she said something about an LPA. I said I had one and that stopped her dead in her tracks. I assume having an LPA made her aware I was not an innocent old bird ready to be plucked. I saved the number on my phone under 'Scam.'

Knew my name and address, claimed to be my domestic appliance insurer - I have no such insurance! When I asked if they had checked whether my number was registered with TPS ( which it is) they just terminated the call. Clearly a scam, never understand why TPS does not deal with these calls. The history on this site indicates they have been active for a long time.

Rang my mother under the pretext that they could reduce her monthly DD but spoke too quickly for her to understand what they were saying. She took their phone number and said she would get me (her son) to call them back. I went onto the internet to see that the phone number had already been shown to be a scam.

Rang me asking if I was homeowner. I said what’s it got to do with you. She replied it’s about your attic insulation. I told her in no uncertain terms she was a scam caller, don’t ring again, and cut her off. Also, she was not a young woman.

Claimed to be a company that we have signed up to for "support". Knew our surname and address. I asked for the code word we had "set up" with them. First he said he didn't know what I was talking about and then said it was only required sometimes!!!! These people are telling outright lies so beware, whatever they say.

Domestic Appliance scam - they've been calling me three times a day, asking for my dead mother. They seem really surprised when I point out that I am not going to fall for their scam and question how I know they are scammers. They claim never to have called me previously and pretend to ask their colleagues who called me yesterday.

Rang at 8 am asking for the policy holder of my appliances. Told them I don't have any to which the call turned nasty. Told me my appliances must be old and that when they catch fire they would laugh as it would be my own fault. Put phone down on them. Have had 6 more calls with just dead air.

Phoned today. Excellent English but with a foreign accent. Knew my name. Telling me as I had not made any call outs for12 months I could get a reduction on my Insurance. Told them I had individual policies with the retailers and they shouldn’t be contacting me as I was TPS registered. I hung up

Caller who did not identify himself tried to obtain my identity. Of course I did not identify myself. Never in any circumstance give a cold caller any information that will identify you or any account that you may have.

As I did not recognise the number calling I did not answer. Caller display is very helpful. If it was a legitimate call I would have expected the caller to leave a message saying who they were and why they were calling. No message left so I assume that I avoided listening to their SCAM message. Seeing the other comments it seems I was correct.

Had my name and address details. Claimed to be company which I do have household protection . Offering me a discount as no claims. Then asked for my bank details so they could change direct debit. Got quite aggressive when I called them out on the scam.

The caller knew my name and address. She wanted to talk about insurance for home appliances. I explained that I did not believe in such insurance. She then said that my appliances were probably a fire risk! I told her that this was an unsolicited telephone call - despite my number being registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). When she simply continued with her blurb about home appliances, I told her to remove my number from their system and hung up. AVOID

SCAMMERS. Unfortunately while I have blocked calls from them bvefore, they just call using a slightly different number. I have told them before that an ethical company would respect the Telephone Preference Service registration but they just ignore it. In this instance, I asked them to hold on a moment then stuck the phone in front of a speaker playing Motorhead very loudly. Funnily enough there was no-one there when I went back a minute later!

03300271876 called my landline this afternoon 25 Nov 2025 - the number was displayed, I did not recognise it, it stopped ringing in less than a minute. I wonder how we can stop this sort of thing. Cheers

Called saying you haven’t had a visit in the past year and we would like to give you discount because of this. I said this was incorrect as I’d had a visit recently, but he still went in and proceeded to ask if I managed my own finances, at which stage I put the phone down!

Kicked off with a casual how ya doin usin my first name like we were buds then dove straight into tryin to snag details for some scheme but it screamed fake from the greetin alone.
