I rang Amazon customer service and they gave me the option to receive a voice text with a reference number rather than waiting in a queue to have my call answered answered. I received a BT text call from this number giving me a reference and then went straight into Amazon. For me this number was perfectly safe and genuine.

My experience is the same as all the other comments about this number. I would not advise dialling 1 to retrieve the message.

Rang me every half hour during the day,16 calls in all. Never answered any and now blocked,if that helps we'll see.Very annoying.Last call was 8.30pm and wonder if it would have carried on if I hadn't blocked the number. No genuine company would surely be cold calling to this extreme ?!

This is a BT number and it is used to relay SMS texts that have been sent by someone to your landline number. It is possible these SMS texts could be from anyone - including genuine friends/relatives trying to send you a text. You can opt-out entirely from this service by ringing 0800 5875252 and following the voice prompts.

I do not want a phone call from08000282321 , 6 in last 40 mins! I have no interest in anything Bt have to send me about items ordered and on the way to me! I am 86 and get 100+ scam emails every day- which I have to then delete, why should honest , elderly people, have their intelligence insulted by this constant bombardment of trite, unrequested tripe. Another 2 calls while I was writing this!!!

The call from BT said it had a message from a caller with a five digit telephone number (who has 5 digit phone numbers?? ) and said 'press or dial 1 ' to pick up the message. There seemed no option to 'hear the message again' and since I did not recognise the phone number I did not 'press 1' before checking on line if this was really BT or if it was one of the regular 'fraud' calls. Although I subsequently checked on line and found it was BT but cannot find any way to read the message

This is a text to voice messaging sevice but keeps ringing with verification pin codes throughout the day with out asking for 2 step verification pin codes

I have said 'neutral ' as the closest of the available options but it certainly wasn't a standard marketing call. I've had 2 calls about 2 weeks apart, both with the same slightly strange male English deep automated voice claiming to be a BT service with Vodafone SMS text and telling me to press 1 to hear the message and 2 for more options. As it didn't give the source Vodafone number (which I could then check) I hung up.

Calling multiple times a day, even 10pm in the evening, never leaves a message, block doesn't work because it is a spoofed number. Phone companies and governments need to get a grip and put an end to spoofing.

Call from apparently a BT message service apparently.... and advising about an order with Halfords, I've not placed an order with Halfords - the man sounded very scam like to me and gave some url I needed to go onto to check order/tracking details. Needless to say I didn't check. Would say its probably a dangerous call as they are trying to scam you.

rang early this morning and when answered a digital artificial voice asked to press 1 to reply or 2 for anything else. Message said something about sms-text service and pretending to be from vodafone. Total silence. Ignore it. It is a scam. checked with vodafone and they didn't call.

Rang twice. No one there both times when picked up. Return call leads to a BT automated voice message about voice-text conversion permissions. Do I expect anyone to cold-call me to do me a favour? No. Marked as Harassing.

This number has rung me several times claimint to be a number of different companies including BT and supposidly my local energy company, all of which is untrue, it is a scam so now blocked.

Continued phoning, I suspect a scam, Vodafone wouldn't calling back 20 times in on day, they have my email address! When I did speak they tried to obtain personal information like the same operator asking for the 1st and last number of my security code, then the 3rd and last when asked for the second it was obviously a scam and since then I have received calls so frequently that I have unplugged the phone!

Rings but when answered there appears to be no one there. Some comments have said BT/Vodaphone however I’ve never been a customer of either company so is giving scammy vibes to me. Also annoying as they are ringing at least once a day over the last few weeks.
