Said to be calling from British Gas, prices changing. When challenged, not happy.

Knowing your account information can be misleading as they follow the script to T to convince you of who they are. Hang up immediately and report them to phishing.gov.uk. Energy scam saying they will set up a smart meyer for you quicker than your provider. Despicable people. Should be deported.

Yu Energy - Said our prices were changing. Asked them to provide account number which was wrong

They called pretending to be British Gas, had our details and knew our supplier and contract date.... sounded fishy so I just hung up, looked up the number and here we are.

Claiming to be from my existing energy supplier, and prices were going up in 24hrs, scam !!! as stated in a previous comment, said he was the line manager of a previous phone call ( which was from a scam number) unfortunately they can get your current supply details on line, he said to prove they are who they are they will send an email, do not except, block the number if possible

Had a call last week, told me my energy costs were more than doubling, we didn't take it well and roasted them then hang up, ive been so stressed with worry all week thinking it may be real until searching the phone number here, bastards

Called but gave no details until i asked who it was, then had to ask from where and finally got told "a redress scheme, have you had car finance?". Blocked them straight away

Pretending to be EDF. Knew my business address. Quite clearly a scam, told them where to go.

Wanted to speak to Business Owner so gave no details, but they did know my energy supplier. Octopus usually communicate via email so I was suspicious. We're insistent on getting callback time to speak to owner.

Same as the above. Except they said they were from Smartest Energy. I nearly fell for it too, thankfully I checked the number online and when they called back I gave them an absolute barrel full. Be careful out there guys...

They called us saying they were calling from Scottish Power to advise us that our charges were going up within 24 hours, and that we needed to agree to it on the recorded phone call before they would send an email to confirm anything. Very persistent on the phone but we hung up as seemed very suspicious.

Do not answer calls from this number, it's an energy scam. I unfortunately fell for it the first time and it has caused all sorts of issues, they are very convincing and know your energy account number etc...Always say no thank you and call your energy company back directly to confirm. They will most likely tell you your tariff is changing and will cost you more.
