Had a call from 07452 338135 regarding my alleged purchase of an I-phone Said it was not me so the female issued a verification code of 795268 Message had 0207084165 as the Amazon Verification contact

I received a call from a mobile telephone number 07781232791 and the caller introduced himself as Amazon's agent calling me to ask if I wanted to continue with the order of an iphone 16. To cancel the order he sent me a code on my Whatsapp (suspicious) and asked me to give him the code. He used 02070848165 to send me the code.

Pretenind to be Amazon and that they have just blocked some high value payments for items, and want to remotely connect to your phone as its been hacked etc etc. Incidentally no such orders appeared on my account. Refused to answer questions on why they rang from a random mobile phone number, refused to answer question as to why the icon on the Whatsapp message they sent is a close to but fake Amazon icon, would not answer questions on why they needed to know make and model of my mobile phone. DANGEROUS HACKER'S CALL.

Have had several phone calls from 02070848165 claiming to be Amazon and saying account has been hacked and asking for a verification code - don't do it - I knew it was scam, kept her talking then asked the woman for her name and number and her response was "Are you dumb? Get lost stupid lady" Lol. More of us should just wind up these scammers and make their lives a misery.

Called from 07557565592 this morning stating that someone had tried to place am order for over £600 using my details, sent me verification code and asked for it despite the actual message stating not to share with anyone one which of course I wouldn't give him then got harassing stating order would go through and I would be responsible to pay

Just received a call from 07441145799, again someone with a heavy indian accent claiming that someone had ordered an iphone and that if I did not cancel it, the money would be taken out of my account. Also go sent a verification code from 02070848165, from what looks like an authentic Amazon account but if you look closer it is not quite right and looks screen grabbed. The guy would not get off the phone, tried to persuade me for over 12 mins! I refused to give in thankfully! Total scammer!!

Just got called on mobile number 07877316300, Indian accent, claiming someone trying to buy Iphone on my Amazon account, sends a code via whatsapp from 02070848165, then what looks like a legitimate Amazon email with a verification code is sent to your email and the caller asks you to confirm it in order to cancel the order. This is clearly suspicious as there would normally be notifications if someone was trying to buy something with your Amazon account, before the caller calls, and of course providing the code to the caller defeats the object of the use of the code to prevent fraud, because you are providing a verification code to a unverified caller who could then us this code to actually hack your account. This is how the fraud works.
