Like other respondents, the people from this number claimed to be needing to install a new meter. They wanted copies of bills and a photo of the meter. I told them they would have to wait until next week. The only thing they have is my mobile and landline numbers.

Claimed that the electric meter needed servicing. Tone was aggressive, they seemed very frustrated that I couldn't hear what they were saying very well because I answered on an old landline. I didn't give them any useful information and they hung up on me.

Claiming to be from my energy supplier. Had my name, DOB, address. This is really scary! Asked for email to persue later on and get them of the phone. Which they did and ended up being a Gmail account!!!! Reported phishing and Reported to Ofgen, whom, I got a response from telling me to contact your supplier as you may need a new meter!!! Totally useless. They also advised as your based in Scotland to contact t the police.... Wait my address, which I gave to ofgem is England!!!! Total waste of time. Getting my MP involved now, but not holding out much hope!!!

Claiming to be from energy supplier saying that meter needs to be replaced as giving incorrect reading. Usual scam. Beware - they will provide meter serial number and other number to try to convince you they are genuine, but the info they need from YOU allows them to fleece you.

Claimed to be from bt trying to tell me they had overcharged me the last few moths and could process a refund, then started to ask for my bank details, at which point I hung up on them and blocked the number. they then tried to call again from a similar number several times.
