I originally asked for a comparison company and apparent British Gas phoning me when I'm on nights so will be switched off, I asked 3months ago, used to be 020 so they've passed it on

Called saying it was Stephen from British Gas and they could get me on a better tariff, said he was from acquisitions team. I told him I am with British Gas already and there was a problem with my smart meter. He said I'll transfer you to the accuracy team etc 0333 202 9802 but it unavailable.

Cold call from rude female claiming to be from British Gas asking how much I pay each month. I told that this was irrelevant as the only way to make an accurate comparison is to see how much BG are charging Pkwh and what the standing charge is. She became rude and started raising her voice and talking over me telling me that she needed to know how much I spend. I hung up. She called back and I said if you call me again I will make a complaint and I hung up again.

This number and atleast 35 different mobile numbers call me every single day claiming to be British Gas and then immediately start asking questions about my bank. No idea how they got my number or how to stop them from contacting me. My advice would be don't answer any calls from numbers you don't recognise. If it's important they will leave a message.

I had requested information from a comparison site for electricity costs and British Gas came up. I thought I'd call them direct but before I did this "they" the scammer called me and quoted interesting rates that were plausible! I never pass on information over the phone if people call me and said I would compare his quote with others.Subsequently he has tried to call at least 10 times over a period of 2 months so I have blocked him.Easy to fall for these scammers so always be aware and never give out personal information.

Continuous calling 3,4, 5 times aday - this time i answered as it was 8.15 at NIGHT - British Gas overseas caller in a call centre asking for personal details - were told to f*** off and blocked.

Just had a call from this number, seemed like he was on a speaker phone couldn't really hear him, then googled the number and found out it was a scam number.

They are an absolute nightmare, rings a minimum of twice a day, sometimes more 😱 says it's British Gas, when I rang them back, came up suspected scam. Wish they'd go away, leave us alone and get a proper job 😱

Persistently calling me 5 times over the last three days. Today I answered, as I thought it may be an important one. The person said she is from some company (that I've never heard of) and wanted to give me some advice on imaging??? I said I don't need it, but she continued talking and said that she could call back at another time. I had to repeatedly say that I don't need any imaging advice to stop her from talking. P.S.: I work in a scientific laboratory so I thought the call was from some equipment supplier company. But after reading all comments mentioning British gas... clearly it is a scammer.

Telephoned several times. Said he was British Gas. Clearly not. Ignored my informing him that I was not interested and asked for information. I ended the call.

Keep calling at least twice daily, never leave a message and I don't answer.

Keeps calling me every 5 hours. Haven't answered a call because I didn't know who it was, but I'd recommend not answering because of the existing comments saying its a person asking about banking. It might be a scam caller, so I'd watch out for it.

Called me yesterday and when I hung up they called straight back again. Then they called again later in the day and even though I didn't speak to them they kept speaking. They have phoned again today and when I asked why they were calling me the man said, ah come on there's no need to be like that - this does NOT sound like it is British Gas - I would suggest DON'T ENGAGE with them
