Phone rang, I answered and said Hello, but it sounded like the engaged tone, so I promptly ended the call.

Called me today. I didn't recognise the number so didn't answer. No message left. Looked the number up here. I consider this to be harassment as unsolicited.

We have the BT Call Guardian system so, although the phone rang once, the call (identified by the system as being a scam) wasn't allowed through. Why doesn't everyone use Call Guardian? - it's free and can be used on almost any system regardless of the service provider. Friday 19 June 2026 Cheshire

Scam calls about car finance that I didnt request. They try to pressure you into giving details right away. Very suspicious and best avoided completely.
