As others have reported here, I received a text supposedly from Barclays about a payment of £735.63 to Ebay being put on hold. Asked to reply Y or call this number if I hadn't made the transaction.

Same thing, saying a Barclaycard payment from Ebay had been blocked... If it wasn't me, I should call this scam number. Reported to both Barclaycard and to the police.

This is a scam. The text with this number to call came from the Philippines… Don’t think Barclays would have called from there

I genuinely had lost my Barclaycard a few days earlier. I cancelled it and am waiting for the replacement. I am an elderly woman living on my own and at first I was totally taken in by them. I gave them my name and address and they asked for the card number and sort code which I couldn’t give them. I wouldn’t have done so anyway. They then used a device to take my photo. I’m not tech savvy but I began to wonder why? What was going on? I was passed over to the second man and he kept talking on and on and I cannot now remember what he said. Eventually I just hung up realising it was a scam. I lay in bed last night worrying about giving my address. I’m sorry to hear that other people have been through this but relieved to know that I was not alone.

Received a message allegedly from Barclays saying that they'd put a hold on an Ebay purchase of £735.63 asking me to reply Y to make payment go through. If it wasn't me I was to ring the above number. I don't have a Barclay's account and can see no movement on my Ebay account. No contact has been made with that number.

While checking online shop got a note pretending bank rep. But i aint got an account there said they froze payments on a purchase i never made.
